1. Controller and contact
The controller of personal data processed through https://liedtexteditions.com is LiedText Editions.
For privacy enquiries and the exercise of rights: info@liedtexteditions.com.
2. Data we process and its sources
Accounts and enquiries: email address, identifying information you provide and the content of messages sent to LiedText Editions.
Purchases and licences: purchased product and edition, order reference and status, amounts and access rights communicated by Paddle or by the institution assigning you a licence.
Institutions: information about the institution, managers and members needed to administer licences. When an institution provides your data, the relevant information must be given in the invitation or first contact, identifying the source.
3. Purposes and bases for processing
Managing accounts, responding to pre-purchase requests, delivering editions, administering licences and providing support: performance of the contractual relationship or pre-contractual steps requested by you.
Identifying licences with a watermark and protecting access against fraudulent use: a legitimate interest in protecting the materials and service, subject to the necessity and proportionality of the processing.
Responding to requests from competent authorities and retaining required information: compliance with legal obligations applicable to the operator.
Marketing communications will only be sent if you accepted them during registration.
4. Recipients and external services
Paddle processes data relating to the transactions it handles as an independent controller. Its privacy information is available at https://www.paddle.com/privacy. This policy covers processing by the operator of LiedText Editions.
Providers of hosting, authentication, database and email services may access the data necessary to provide those services under the relevant contractual conditions.
Data may also be disclosed to competent authorities where there is a legal obligation.
5. Retention
Deleting an account does not require the immediate deletion of information that must be retained to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend claims. Access to that information must be restricted to the purposes justifying its retention.
Delivered PDF files may contain the buyer’s or beneficiary’s email address and the order reference. Closing the account does not automatically modify files already downloaded.
6. Rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, where applicable, by emailing info@liedtexteditions.com. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We will only request additional information to verify identity where necessary and proportionate.
7. Necessary data, security and automation
To create an account, receive a purchase or obtain a response to an enquiry, you must provide the data necessary for the requested function. Optional fields are identified as such.
8. Updates
We will publish changes to this policy with the corresponding date and provide any additional information needed before using data for new purposes.
